# Forced EOC -> Bridge Grid Blackout -> Forced EOC

Initial State: Forced EOC
Intermediate State: Bridge Grid Blackout
Target State: Forced EOC

Test Procedure

  1. The SOC of the system should be 95% or lower, but higher than min SOC + 5%
  2. Grid setpoint is set to 0W.
  3. a load (min 1000W) is connected to the AC-Out side of the inverter.
  4. The system is brought to the Forced EOC state using Force charge now in the gui.
  5. A grid blackout is simulated by manually disconnecting the system from the grid
  6. The system is left without grid for at least 3 minutes.
  7. The system is connected back to the grid

Expected Outcome

  • The system first charges the battery to EOC in the Forced EOC state.
  • As soon as the grid is disconnected, the system changes into Bridge Grid Blackout, as visible by the "inverter on" LED on the inverter.
  • the load must not loose power
  • the Venus controller will loose power for a short time and then reboot
  • as soon as the Venus has rebooted, the controller should resume in the Bridge Grid Blackout state. (It may transition through the Unknown state, but it must not stay there for more than 30 seconds)
  • after the grid has been reconnected, the inverter synchronizes with the grid and switches back to charger mode ("mains on" LED on the inverter is lit). This should not take longer than 3 minutes.
  • the Venus controller should then resume the Forced EOC state.
  • during the whole procedure the load must never loose power

Tested Outcome

Before this test was undergone, the grid connection was initially disconnected from previous tests. so there was a constant drop in the SOC due to the feeding of the power electronics devices. The grid was then connected, to switch to a normal state. After the grid was connected, the status changed successfully to Optimise Self-Consumption. A heating load was connected after that and there was an observation that the battery was contributing to power this load even though the grid was connected. The battery was brought to Forced EOC state in the GUI and was successfully charging until the grid blackout was forced. The venus lost power but got restarted in a timely manner switching between "Unknown" and "Unbekannt" states as the language was set to German during this test. After less than a minute, the state was changed to Bridge Grid Blackout as expected and the battery was feeding all connected loads. After more than 5 minutes, the grid and the system were connected back. However, it was noticed that the grid was slowly taking charge of the loads instead of the battery which was feeding 4.4kW of loads. It took the grid around 7 minutes to completely cover the load need from the battery. It was noticed however, that the battery didn't continue to force charge, even though the status was Forced EOC and it appeared to actually be in Optimise Self-Consumption which might explain the 7 minutes of time needed for the grid to take over. It was noticed that the venus was lagging and non-responsive for seconds while on blackout mode. Database readings also spiked to GW and MA during this test. At early stages, the state was changed to Heating.
